This course was fantastic for thinking through which company to join after graduation and how to be a force for change at work. I used these notes as my main study preparation and written assignment research. The notes are organized by lecture, with guest speakers named and pre-class readings outlined. Topics covered in these notes include:
‘Type E’ vs ‘Type O’ change (see Leadership Fundamentals notes as well)
Causes of Corporate Decline
Building Internal Coalitions
Kotter Change Management Framework
Case Studies on Harley Davidson, British Airways, IBM, General Motors, etc.
Using these notes I was able to pass the written assignment with a mark just below distinction. These notes were also helpful for some of my initial work projects after graduation. Even if you aren’t taking the class, I recommend these notes to any corporate leader looking for ways to effectively manage change at their firm.
