I use Nexus Notes as skeletons for my own notes. This method is far easier than working off textbooks and really helps me with my law exams which aren't getting any easier.

I have used Nexus Notes since the site launched and I’m now achieving way more Ds and HDs instead of Ps.

About these notes

As a student who studied Part II APC 1 and 2 at Melbourne University, I found the support material to be limited with the lecture notes being brief and the supporting textbook too detailed and not exam focussed. I soon learnt gaining exemption and doing well in the exam would be a matter of studying smart and targeting exam questions rather than studying hard and memorising everything.

I have developed this set of comprehensive 121 pages of combined APC 1 and 2 notes to solely target the exam and score an exemption mark. Please note that these notes are not intended for you to learn the concepts (please consult your lecture notes and text book for this); they are dedicated to applying the concepts to target exam questions. This has been achieved in a number of ways:
1. The notes are structured using a question follow by answer approach. This is so the student can see how to apply what they have learnt in solving exam questions.
2. The notes have been divided into 5 parts. Part 1 is a comprehensive discussion about insurance products from general, life, health and superannuation to aid the student on questions related to the design, risk and characteristics of different insurance products. Parts 2-5 contain a question followed by answer approach so the student can learnt how to apply their knowledge to answer exam questions.
3. In each section, where suitable, I have written a reference list which enables the student to quickly turn to the relevant pages in the control cycle text book to answer the questions related to that particular topic.
4. The notes are intentionally flooded with bullet points as this helps for easy perusal, sparking ideas and searching during examination. The purpose is, on reaching an exam question on an unfamiliar topic, to go to the relevant section in the notes and scan over the bullet points for relevant points to answer the exam question.

These notes were tested under examination conditions and I successfully scored exemption for Part II first go. I have also written an accompanying set of APC 3 notes as a sequel and are available on nexus notes to aid your Part II studies. Happy Studying!
